Our Mission and Impact
Project Pet is an Oakland-based social enterprise and nonprofit that uses the human-animal bond to engage people in need of health, housing, and workforce support. We offer a wide range of services, including the Release a Leash mental health curriculum, which introduces cognitive wellness principles through dog training.
In 2023, we formed the Bay Area One Health Coalition (BAOHC), an initiative focused on cross-sector collaboration between animal welfare, public health, and social services. Our work has earned recognition from leading agencies, including a GG Greenhouse Award and commendations from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.
